This specialty retail business currently operates in two locations. It caters to people of all ages, but particularly draws in families and groups. 70% of sales are made up of art supplies and related materials, but these are augmented by events for families, companies, and a variety of organizations. Staff is in place to meet customer needs and handle the group events. This opportunity is for retail business owners; “artistic interests and ability” is not required.
There are two locations; each offering comparable products and experiences. They are located in shopping areas in leased space. Substantial funds have been spent in tenant build-outs in each location. Each location is outfitted with a pottery kiln, paints, canvases, substantial inventory (included in sale), table and chairs, easels, etc.
The current management has not done a great deal of outside marketing. Despite this, the company’s growth has been outstanding. There is currently a full staff of experienced employees in place to handle customers and in-store activities. This will allow the new owners to focus on additional marketing and growth within the existing customer base. The “artistic” side of the business is well under control with employees capable and excited to meet those demands. This allows a new “non-artistic” owner to build the business successfully via social media, advertising and direct marketing to companies and groups. The Wasatch Front is one of the fastest growing and most business-friendly areas in the country. There is a strong family orientation that fits perfectly with the continued and accelerated growth of this business.
There are several stores along the Wasatch Front offering services of a roughly similar nature, but none have the level of in-house expertise (employees) that this business offers or as wide a range of products and activities (most competitors only focus on just one aspect of the art business). This business has established itself as being very family friendly in an extremely family oriented community.
Employment is taking them out of state.
Will train for 4 weeks @ no cost. Each location offers a variety of products/service related to the arts. They offer pottery and painting supplies for purchase; they offer painting (canvas as well as pottery) sessions; these may be guided or unguided, they offer time for families and organizations to come in for unplanned activities or for organized team building events.
