The business operates out of a street-level office of about 1000 sq. ft. in a cinder block building on Main Street near the county courthouse. The building has recently received a new roof, new insulation and a fresh interior finish to the office. The space includes a separate restroom and integrated kitchen space and work areas with modern office equipment for staff. Weekly printing is performed under contract by a large regional printing company.
Other opportunities include web-based advertising, more special sections and insert advertising and political advertising. A recent increase in advertising rates was well received, especially for government notices, and there is room to increase subscription prices and expand web-based sales and advertising in the e-edition.
The newspaper is the sole local provider of news in the community. It competes with several state-wide newspapers for regional news.
